Root of Generations (RoG) is South Sudanese national NGO registered by RRC South Sudan. We are being registered in 2016. Registered with the Ministry of Humanitarian affairs under Relief and Rehabilitation Commission with its registration number 1358 and has been active since its registration year - 2016.
We are women-youth led, and a woman –headed (Executive Director) NNOG. The idea of forming this NNGO was inspired and founded by South Sudanese young lady who was denied opportunity to complete commercial pilot training because of being born a female.Her aim is to encourage women, girls, boys, men, and communities to believe in women’s aspirations and women’s capitals while being driven for education, professional development.
Root of Generations (ROG) is based in South Sudan with support office in Juba and field offices in EES and CES as of 2018.
We empower South Sudanese women and children,youths, gender-based violence survivors, conflict related sexual violence survivors, women in the lowest income group and marginalised, vulnerable socio –economically groups to sustain their equal participation, recovery, self-reliance, well-being and dignity.
We work with partners including civil society, the private sector, UN Agencies and government institutions to achieve our mission, vision and objectives that focus afore said groups.
Our work supports women, and girls, to access their rights to education, health,RHR protection and economic security. We are also working to bring lasting positive change to a country.
We strive to advance youth’s rights, equality and equity for women and girls, and ensure that all children, families and communities actively participate in their country’s peace and development.
Root of Generation is committed to empowering women, children, and youth through integrated approaches that address education, peacebuilding, health, and human rights, fostering sustainable livelihoods and promoting systemic change through community ownership and collaboration.
Root of Generations envisions a future where communities are empowered, self-sustaining, peaceful, and dignified, with holistic well-being, sustainable livelihoods, and equal opportunities for all, particularly women, children, and youth.
To improve people livelihood, health, education, protection, disaster reduction and sustained, the well-being of especially the vulnerable women and children in South Sudan by 2029. In the next strategic period (2025 –2029) ROG will endeavor to pursue the five strategic objectives as outlined below:
Women Empowerment, GBV, protection and Peace building Issue: Pervasive conflict and insecurity affecting vulnerable populations. Solution: Implement comprehensive protection measures for 100,000 people, including women, children, youth, IDPs, refugees, and persons with disabilities, by 2029. This involves: • Strengthening conflict prevention and resolution mechanisms • Enhancing community-based protection strategies • Improving access to justice and human rights protection .
Livelihood Resilience Issue: Widespread poverty and food insecurity. Solution: Enhance economic empowerment for 500,000 households by 2029, focusing on: • Implementing "Farming as a Business" programs for 2,500 households • Diversifying income sources through off-farm enterprises • Improving access to markets and financial services ”
Education and Life Skills Issue: Limited access to quality education and skills development. Solution: Provide education, life skills, and digital literacy training to 100,000 individuals by 2029, with emphasis on: • Expanding access to primary and secondary education • Offering vocational and technical training programs • Promoting digital literacy and ICT skills .
Health and Well-being Issue: Inadequate access to healthcare and poor health outcomes. Solution: Improve health services for 50,000 people by 2029, focusing on: • Enhancing reproductive health services • Implementing nutrition interventions • Improving water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) facilities • Providing mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) .
Environmental Protection and Climate Resilience Issue: Environmental degradation and vulnerability to climate change. Solution: Implement targeted environmental management and biodiversity protection measures, including: • Developing disaster risk reduction strategies • Promoting wildlife conservation efforts • Implementing climate change adaptation and mitigation measures10 These solutions aim to address the complex challenges facing South Sudan, promoting sustainable development and improving the lives of its citizens
